92 percet of Marketers Use AI for Blogging But It Hasn’t Moved Their Results

92.4% of content marketers now use AI somewhere in their blogging process, per Orbit Media’s 2026 Blogging Statistics survey. Yet marketers who use AI and marketers who don’t report “strong results” at the exact same rate: 14% each. That’s near-universal adoption, and it hasn’t moved the number it was supposed to move.

What it means

AI adoption in blogging went from a rounding error to the default in about three years: near-zero in 2022, 92.4% by 2026. That’s one of the fastest tool-adoption curves the report has tracked in over a decade of asking the same questions. Non-users are now the outlier: just 8% of marketers report no AI use at all.

Performance didn’t follow the same curve. If AI genuinely made blogging more effective, the 92.4% who use it should be outperforming the 8% who don’t, but they aren’t: both groups land at 14% “strong results,” identical to the overall average. The report does find one asymmetry: AI users are somewhat more likely to avoid the worst outcomes than non-users. AI looks less like a performance lever, then, and more like a downside guardrail that keeps weak work from being actively bad without making average work exceptional.

The use cases marketers reach for most, suggesting edits and generating visuals, are also the two most commonly cited as declining in usage year over year, alongside every other major AI use case tracked. That looks less like AI plateauing at maximum value and more like marketers pulling back once the novelty wore off and the results didn’t materialize.

Why it matters for B2B marketers

If your team adopted AI blogging tools expecting a performance lift, this data says to look past adoption itself, toward human editing, original reporting, and promotion strategy. The report’s own strongest performance correlations (formal editors, original research, influencer collaboration) are all non-AI levers. Budget and training time are better spent there than on a better prompt.
